Frequently Asked Questions concerning this Rozenburg earthenware site
Making a purchase is easy.
You just simply contact us via phone, fax , email or regular mail.
You can, preferably, also do this by making use of the "online" form on our contact page.
Note: When making an offer please do not forget to include the item reference number !
After doing the latter we will contact you so that we may discuss the appropriate proceedings.
Selling an item is just as easy as purchasing one.
All you need to do is contact us via phone, fax, email or regular mail.
Note: Please do not forget to include clear photographic images, including one with a signature or factory mark !
You can, preferably, do this by making use of the "online" form on our contact page.
Apart from putting in an asking price please also mention anything possibly amiss with the item. Things such as such damage, restoration work or any other important details concerning its condition.
After doing the latter we will contact you so that we may discuss the appropriate proceedings.
Yes. All items are covered for the, agreed upon, asking price.
In other words they are adequately insured against loss due to fire, theft or damage.
In case of repairable damage a restoration will take place and the difference in value will be refunded.
As all sales have a return policy of 14 days, we will transfer your money, into your bank account, after this "trial" period has ended.
Naturally this does not apply when having opted for a swift and direct sale to us... When purchasing items ourselves we will transfer money to your bank account immediately.
Receiving payment in cash is also possible. Yet, cash payments are by appointment only and strictly after being able to show us a valid ID..
In determining how much an item is worth there are several factors which should be taken into account. The main factors are :
What is the demand for similar items.
Is the item damaged, been restored or in need of restoration.
Who painted the item and what is the quality of his / her work.
Who designed the item etc. etc.
As all our sales take place between collectors there is no need to pay V.A.T. on top of the actual purchase price !
Paying V.A.T only applies to the "costs" that we need to charge. Rest assured that we are dealing with small amounts of money here...
Yes, that is possible.
All items are securely sent in double wall cardboard boxes; Moreover all items are covered by insurance and sent via UPS only !
Note: The costs for this service is relatively high !
Yes, you can.
Yet, only when you can specify exactly which piece you are looking for !
Example : Tile Rozenburg, measurements ....x....depiction: Orphanage Katwijk. unrestored.
As you can imagine we want your search to be successful and for this reason a broad description such as: "Tiles Rozenburg", just wouldn't be adequate enough..
We will ask for a small fee when you wish to sell an item on our site.
This fee will be agreed upon, in accordance with the value of the item, before placing your ad..
Naturally, the fee will only have to be paid after a sale has been made. No cure no pay...
Unsurprisingly advertisements by businesses such as restorers, event managers and others, all involve costs...
Apart from the above named scenarios no costs will be involved. When in doubt please contact us !
As of yet we are unaware of any disadvantages Yet, when you stumble on one, please let us know and we will try our upmost to resolve the matter.
Advantages, however, we can see aplenty.
Advantages for sellers:
The ability to make a direct sale to us. Although perhaps not achieving top money for your item, you will receive immediate payment instead.
Furthermore our site allows you to reach a large pool of prospective buyers, who are truly interested, as the majority of our visitors are avid collectors.
In contrast to common practices at an auction house, there will be no long waiting period for the actual auction date to arrive. Nor will you have to pay a seller's commission of at least 10%.
No having to drag yourself from one antiques dealer to the next in order to obtain a good price.
No exasperating contact with semi interested buyers such as on Marktplaats or Ebay.
No having to invite strangers into your " home " for a viewing.
Advantages for buyers:
No having to buy from unknown or ambiguous sellers, such as often found on sites like Marktplaats or Ebay.
No unclear descriptions that allow room for after- sales comments such as; "I have never noticed that before" or "I really don't know much about it myself".
No upfront payment that leaves you fretting over what will arrive and if it will arrive...
No pictures which have been altered using Photoshop. E.g. bright colours that, all of a sudden, become less bright in some places.
Instead, this site offers you the possibility to physically view an item before purchase!
